Privacy policy

AbateDesk ("we") helps asbestos and lead abatement contractors keep the compliance records for their jobs. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

What we store

• Your account: your email address and a securely hashed password, handled by Amazon Cognito.
• Your company's records: projects (site address, state, work type, dates), records of the notices and permits you filed with your agency, waste shipment records and their return dates, crew assignments, notice rules, team roles, which projects each invited person may see, and a history of who changed what and when.
• Crew licenses: each worker's name, field role, and for each accreditation only the license type, issuing state or body, license number and expiry date. We don't ask for dates of birth, ID numbers or other personal data.
• Attachments: copies of notices, permits and signed waste shipment records, and optional photos of license cards, stored privately in Amazon S3 and shown only through short-lived signed links. A card photo can show a face or date of birth, so only the owner, office admins and the supervisor of a job that worker is on can open it. Card photos are never included in share links, printed site files, or what consultants and client viewers see, and a card photo is deleted when that license is replaced with a newer one.
• Page-view analytics: the page visited, referring site, browser user agent, rough location when available, and a one-way hash of the IP address that changes daily. We never store the raw IP address.
• Feedback you send, with your email if you give it.
• Billing: Stripe processes payments. We store Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan, never your card number.

Share links

On the Contractor plan you can create a read-only link to one project's site file. Anyone with the link can open it without signing in, so share it only with the building owner, general contractor or inspector who needs it. Turning the link off stops it working at once.

Email

We send sign-in codes, invites, and a daily digest of overdue waste shipment records to the owner and office admins of companies that have them.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies to keep you signed in and random IDs to count visits and sessions. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Who processes your data

Amazon Web Services provides hosting, database, file storage, and sign-in; Stripe processes payments; and Resend sends email. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

How long we keep it

Your company's records stay until you ask us to close the account; abatement records often must be kept for years, so the app doesn't delete them on its own. Analytics are kept in aggregate form for as long as they remain useful.

Your choices

You can export your crew roster, projects, notices, permits and waste shipments as CSV. To get a copy of everything, correct personal information, or delete your account and company data, contact us.
